Getting there. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is served by direct flights from most European hubs. The Arlanda Express train reaches Stockholm City in 18 minutes; from there, the venue at Karolinska Institutet is a short metro or bus ride. Stockholm Central Station connects to the Scandinavian rail network.

Getting around. Public transport in Stockholm (SL) covers metro, bus, and commuter trains on a single ticket, purchased via the SL app or contactless card at the gates. Taxis and ride services are widely available; note that taxi fares in Sweden are unregulated, so use established companies.

Money and essentials. Sweden is effectively cashless and cards are accepted everywhere. Many venues do not take cash at all. The currency is the Swedish krona (SEK). Electrical outlets are European standard (type C/F, 230 V). Tap water is excellent. In mid-September, Stockholm weather can vary from sunny and pleasant days to chilly and windier autumn days with temperatures typically range between 8°C at night to 17 °C during the day; bring a layer and plan for some rain.

Visas. Sweden is a Schengen member. Delegates requiring a visa should apply well in advance; letters of invitation for visa purposes can be requested from XXX after registration.
